Show Former aims yes I Hit Hit t by Lake y Tragedy i iI I From Th The Ephraim Enterprise A man born in Ephraim and the husband of a former Ephraim girl girl lost ost their lives in the fishing tragedy tragedy tragedy tra tra- tra- tra gedy at Strawberry Reservoir last Saturday y evening l Ralph James Frost whose body had lad not been recovered at this writing was born in E Ephraim P Dec 9 D 1913 a son of Nels C C. and Agnes Dorius Frost He apparently was i named for his uncle the tile late James Frost Yost His mother is a sister half-sister I to o Mrs Benj 0 O. O Carlst n. n I. I Douglas Greene the other drownIng drownIng drown drown- I Ing ng victim was the husband of the former ormer Amanda Peterson daughter of Mr and Mrs Pratt Peterson whom he married May 17 1941 The two men were drowned when a man 5 aluminum boat capsized throwing them and two other fishermen fishermen fish fish- fiSh I ermen into the chilly waters of the reservoir The other two were Scott Bennett 20 of Salt Lake City and Leo Woodward 26 of Kays- Kays ville vile Both were wearing life preservers pre- pre servers and had been in the water swimming toward shore about an hour lour and a half when picked up by jy a rescue boat equipped with motor and searchlight The accident happened about 30 Saturday evening about a half mile from shore and where the wa- wa vater ter er is approximately 40 feet deep Mr Frost was the only one not notable notable notable able to swim and also the only one without a life preserver He was wearing heavy hip boots and his companions said he sank before he even had time to holler After Bennett and Woodward had been jeen taken to shore the motor motorboat motorboat for Mr boat x at returned to search Greene and found his body held afloat by his rus life preserver floating floating floating float float- ing face downward in the then choppy waters That was only minutes minutes minutes min min- utes after Bennett and Woodward had lad been rescued Mr Greene is survived by his widow and a son Neil Francis Greene both of Salt Lake City Funeral services were held Wednesday Wednesday Wed Wed- and P. P C. C Peterson went to Salt Lake to attend them Mr Frost is survived by his wi widow widow widow wi- wi dow Margie Horsley Frost whom he married Sept 19 1938 at St. St George by a daughter and two sons Steven Ronald onald and Daniel Daniel Daniel Dan Dan- iel Nels his mother one brother John Frost six six sisters Mrs Lucille Erickson Mrs Doris Williams Mrs Monna Graham Mrs Faye Miller and Mrs Betty Schmidt all of Salt Lake City and Mrs Ruth Ballew American Fork Funeral services will of course depend on when the body is found The Nels Frost family moved from Ephraim about 30 years ago relatives state Since then tragedy has entered the lives of the four oldest children The oldest son Devere died of natural causes cause the second son Ronald was killed af after after after af- af in an automobile accident soon ter he had been married the oldest oldest oldest old old- est daughter Lucille lost her husband husband husband hus hus- band about a year and a half after their and now Ralph the fourth child in the family has met meta a tragic death by drowning The father Nels C C.
