Show nn Years Of Service As we printed the programs for the Ladies Literary club of of Manti this year we conti continually found ourselves 1 contemplating on the great amount of community service that must have been rendered rendered rendered ren ren- dered by this group of women since its organization 51 years ago and hd its federation two vo years later Especially were we impressed when we read the names names of the charter members some of whom the ve we had known as very outstanding women and of the long list of oi past presidents many o of ot whom are still living and serving their community The charter members s those who organized the club way back in 1896 are listed in the program program as Louise Keller Cherry Elizabeth Christena M. M Anderson derson Lucy Tennant Etta Anderson Lodicy Olsen Mary C. C Christensen Ella Hougaard Cox Olivia P. P Burns Maria Lowry Jane L L. Reid and Millie Kerr Under their names the pr program gram pays this beautiful tribute They J laid the cornerstone of an organization that has enriched the lives o of f many For the 48 past presidents the program says a lot in just justa a single sentence ice They served willingly i and well And then there is another list one which grows all too rapidly It is the the list of club members embers who have passed on andone and andone andone one feels like bowing the head in reverent memory as he reads those names and the tribute underneath It It is a beautiful thing f for or the living to think in loving appreciation of those who have passed on Calling to mind their virtues helps to strengthen tl the e r virtues of those who remember 10 B But t one is pulled suddenly from thoughts of the past to a contemplation of possibilities for accomplishments in the present and in the future as he reads the names of the officers and committee committee committee com com- members for this year Our hopes the highest living for forthe forthe forthe the best is the club motto and the theme for 48 1947 is To broaden broad broad- broadi i en en our horizons that we may more clearly visualize and understand understand understand under under- stand the problems beyond our own small world We hope the club members will vill pardon us for printing the Club Womans Woman's Litany which should be inspirational and helpful helpful helpful help help- ful to everyone It reads as if it might have l been een written by someone who had just completed a thoughtful reading of the B Beatitudes CLUB WOMANS WOMAN'S LITANY r Keep us 0 O God from front pettiness let us be large in I thought in in word to in deed V 1 Let Lei Leius us be done with finding fault and leave off 1 self f all and each other t May i we pretence meet f face ace to face without self-pity self and without J T L.
