Show School District Qualifies For Building Aid Through the continued ef efforts efforts efforts ef- ef forts of the South Sanpete School Board and its administrative administrative administrative admin admin- officers on July 14 1961 the State Board of Education Education Education Edu Edu- cation approved South Sanpete Sanpete Sanpete San San- pete School District as one of seven districts in Utah who qualified for special aid under the School Building Aid Law Lawas as enacted by the 1961 Legis Legis- lature Under the terms of the law passed in the last Legislature those districts who had buildIng building building build build- ing needs in excess of 20 per percent percent percent cent of their present classrooms classrooms classrooms class class- rooms and who could not meet these needs out of local revenue revenue revenue rev rev- were entitled to special state aid On the basis of present as assessed assessed assessed as- as valuation this program will bring about of state money Into the district for building purposes when the district meets the terms of further qualification The first year it will bring 35 state aid money into the district The importance of this to school children and people of this school district Is that the Board of Education can now consider completion of parts of the continuing five year building program as planned by the local Board and re requIred required re- re by Senate Bill State Statute 1959 These are projects that the Board has not been able to start because of lack of funds |
