Show Need Help to Get Out of Mountains Glen and Don Petty arrived home Tuesday after a couple of oC very cold days on top of the mountain They had gone up for Christmas trees but ran into too much snow on Mile 12 Flat so went up the other side of the mountain They were staying at atthe atthe atthe the cabin at their sawmill On Sunday they had 12 to 15 inches of snow but the next day the wind had drifted it into nto 4 foot drifts They report their therm thermometer meter read 22 below zero Monday 1 and that they were unable to start their truck The freeze anti-freeze in inthe inthe inthe the truck was tested to ten below but it had mush ice in it They tried draining the oil boiling it and putting it back in the motor and tucking the battery in the oven but the truck wouldn't start Finally they hiked to the ranger ranger ranger ran ran- ger station and phoned Ferron for help Sheriff Kofford of oC Emery Emery Em- Em ery cry County led a Jeep party that got them out with little trouble n 0 |
