Show Elk Hunting Proves Very Slow f fn C En n Dante Manti District A stop at the elk checking station in Manti 1 Tuesday evening evening evening even even- ing showed a hunter success of only about 5 per cent after four Cour days of elk hunting on the Manti ManU unit There were bull permits and md either sex permits issued for this district and after aftel four days of hunting only 24 elk had been checked out Of the Sanpete permit holders holders holders hold hold- ers five Ephraim hunters had their elk but not one of t the h e Manti hunters had been suc suc- And of the 24 elk brought in there was a wide variety of hunting areas Randall Johnson of Gunnison brought d down wn a point 6 bull which had the largest horns of any yet checked out according to Gomer Corner Edmunds who runs the checking station George Vincent of Kaysville got a G- G point Dun bull winch which was the bIggest biggest biggest big bIg- gest animal of the 24 Among A Am m o 0 n g the lucky hunters were ere Gordon Bailey Bailey Batley Bai Bat ley who got a cow in Willow WillowCreek WillowCreek Creek John Daniels and Jack who got 4 and point 5 bulls on Dutsy Burgs Burg's Ridge Colleen J J. J Nielson who got a spike in V Willow ill ow Creek and Clayton Stout who killed a 4 point bull buIl on Bald Mountain 1 Wally Vally Durfee formerly of Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim got a point 5 bull buIl in Willow Willow Wil Wil- low Creek Keith S.
