Show Templar Topics By Judy and Robert Larsen No News There is little in the way of news this week The play is over the basketball season is beginning the report cards are out we are slowly recovering from the knowledge that we weare weare are not as bright as we had thought In other words there is a lull But we have in our English classes been trying to write not poetry which perhaps re requires requires requires re- re quires a great gift but rhymes Here Herc are two or three b brief r ri i e f examples Mary 1 Tuttle who wrote the following has been evidently thinking big thoughts Little parts of living Little parts of earth Make the pleasant heaven And the mighty universe And Lane Campa evidently has her tongue in her cheek when she addresses her fellow students Freshmen are crazy Sophomores are blank Juniors are lazy And Seniors are arc rank Judy seems to have picked up the Thanksgiving spirit As Thanksgiving draws near Shouts of praise we will hear For the two wl whole ole school days When not even a phrase Of Mr Howells Howell's poetry well we'll hear Not a typewriter singing Nor a school bell ringing And the bugs will stay in the book Is this true what they say That we might have one day dayTo dayTo dayTo To just eat and sleep and play rook Incidentally Mr Howell has announced that Write the schools school's magazine magazine magazine mag mag- azine of student writing writing writing- which first appeared last year and aroused so much favorable comment throughout the community community community com com- will be published again again again a- a gain this year The magazine will appear be before before before be- be fore the Christmas holidays And it will this year contain a special alumni section If graduates graduates graduates gra gra- of the school have drawings drawings drawings draw draw- ings poems or prose selections which they would like to have considered for this section such contributions will be gratefully received according to Mr How- How ell |
