D Funk were held in inthe inthe inthe the Center Ward Yard Chapel Monday Monday Mon lon day afternoon at 2 o'clock with Bishop Claude Braithwaite pre pre- siding Mr Funk passed away Friday at his home after a brief illness Mrs LaRue played preliminary organ music at the funeral and other musical numbers numbers num num- bers included Abide With Me and The Lord Is My ly Shepherd by the Manti Center Ward Yard Ladies Ladies Ladies La La- dies chorus accompanied by Mrs Bernice Keeler Whispering Whisper ing Hope by Mrs LaRue Ped- Ped erson and Mrs 1 Barbara Barton and Calvary a vocal solo by Sam Parry both numbers accompanied ac accompanied ac- ac companied by Pauline Parry Speaker Ward Yard Magleby 1 paid tribute to the life of the de departed departed departed de- de parted and to the family which i he characterized as filled with honesty and goodness He spoke of the belief in the resurrection and life hereafter I Eric Ludvigson of Sterling a n friend of Mr 11 Funk for 50 years I spoke of their association and I expressed high regard for Mr 11 Funk and his parents who played played played play play- ed an important roll in the de development development development de- de of Sanpete County Speaker Ray P P. P Lund Lind related the family background and pioneer pioneer pioneer pio pio- neer heritage of Mr Funk and that his father and his grandfather grandfather grandfather grand grand- father Daniel B. B Jennings i Mr 11 Funk was born December 1 1868 in Manti 1 a son of Villiam William William Wil Wil- VilI I liam D. D and Ingri Sandberg I Funk The cause of death was wasI I listed as a cerebral hemorrhage He Ile married Sena Christensen in Manti 1 on October 13 1897 and they always made their home here Mrs 1 Funk died January 18 1934 Mr Funk received his education education education edu edu- cation in Manti ManU schools and en engaged engaged engaged en- en in farming and livestock work all of his life except for forthe forthe forthe the years 1905 to 1910 when he served as a 1 ranger on the Sevier and Manti ManU Forest Re Re- serves In his later years he he- spent much time gardening and took great pride in the fine vegetables vegetables vegetables and beautiful flowers h lie he raised lie Ile was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat Lat- ter day Saints and for many years was a member of Lodge No 23 Surviving are arc a son William Villiam WilliamG G G.
