Braithwaite who died at Ogden June 1 his birthday anniversary of causes causes causes caus caus- es incident to age He suffered a n p partial stroke 7 months ago and never fully recovered Mr Braithwaite was born rn at at atI Manti anti June 1 1872 a son of George I and Sara Johnston Braithwaite He spent his e early life in Manti and andon andon on June 22 1898 married Caroline of Ephraim in the Manti temple She died in Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim May 15 1934 He engaged in farming arming and stock raising in Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim and in later years had spent much time with sons and daughters daughters daughters daugh daugh- in other parts of Utah and andin andin andin in Idaho He also served as a fieldman for the Ephraim S Canning Company predecessor to the Hunt Foods plant at Ephraim He W was a high priest in the Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- I Eph-I raim South Ward at time of de death th Survivors include four sons and daughters Verlan J. D Jensen former South ward bishop was the first speaker a request by Mr Braithwaite before his lis death He had also been a speaker at Mrs Braithwaite's Bl funeral funeral funeral fun fun- eral 16 10 years ago he said Mr Jensen pointed out Gut how both Mr and Mrs Braithwaite had been born bom of pioneer par parents and had been wonderful parents making a lovely home in which they reared a fame family fam- fam I e ily to honor their names He told how Edna while organist for th the South Ward Sunday School had never llever missed a Sunday but was always in her place He said Mr Braithwaite's life had been such that the Master would term him hima a profitable servant always willing willingto to do just a little more than re re- re of him T. T L. L Thomson also a former South Ward bishop said twice before before be- be fore ore he had spoken at funerals for this his family He said a bright spot in n his life had been his associations with Mr rr Braithwaite in the elders quorum when Mr Braithwaite was the president He had been a kind friend and neighbor Mr Thomson also told of having been associated with the Braithwaite children at al school and said the corner stone for or eternal success is a successful home lome and family Mr Thomson read a poem which had been written by Edna on Fathers Fathers' Fathers Fathers' Fathers Fathers' Fa Fa- Fa- Fa Day 1941 as a tribute to her father and said aid Mr Braithwaite merited every word of it He re referred referred referred re- re to Mr Braithwaite's priesthood priesthood priesthood priest priest- hood and S said it is a gift which goes with him into eternity Mr Braithwaite had a firm be belief belief belief be- be lief in the mission of Jesus Christ the speaker said and had evidenced ed it by his faithful tithe paying and his living in accordance with the laws of the Master In his closing remarks Bishop Eeck Peck said it had been a pleasure to have known Mr Braithwaite and to have him as a fellow member member member mem mem- ber of the ward temple club Burial was in the Park cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Charles Braithwaite of Manti |
