Show PHEASANT SHOOTING CLOSES WITH 1 11 the pheasant season for utah closed this past wednesday night at ter being open tor for four days the limit allowed this year was wag three cod s the first day and two each day after that the reason for the tour four dais was mas that in the past we have had one poor day due to rains or storms this year was no exception the season opened wet and dis nal rial with a steady rain tailing falling that had started about three 0 clock that morning some hardy souls had ven aured out into the rain only to get thoroughly wet for their efforts birds were extremely hard to rals rais and everything pointed to a very poor day the only persons having any I 1 ick that day were those who drove around until they spotted a poor for lorn rooster and then shot him from the car or else got out and made a quick trip to the bird and either shot him or missed and then hopped back ii to the car and drove on tor for adoth ei the re maning three days pleasant with the sun shining con I 1 tenuously but the driving about on the first day had driven most of them to the tall brush and there they stay ed only the most fortunate of hunters were able to get their limits after the opening day and those who got their limit on the opening day were very fortunate alao alo the season was not what was ex pecked from the evidence of so many birds here the first little flurry drove enem away before the second day very few were shot on the open ing day the birds are still here and will be it if they stay in the brush tor for years to come many out of town people were here for the hunt among whom were G L H iff and a party from tooele thoele mrs B W standby heard mar low cummings and a party of six from salt lake city ralph wright and a party of tour four from salt lake emanuel stanworth from los an geles and many more we did not know these doeple should get a bonus for tramping down so much brush but I 1 guess that will be the farmers compensation tor for raising the birds |
