Show vietas S OF tavo 0 SENATORS ON SUPREME COURT CASE U S senate 1 march 1937 mr richard S morrison delta utah my dear mr morrison I 1 am in receipt of your letter ol 01 february 27 in which you approve of 0 my stand in opposition to the plan to reorganize the federal judicial system ot of the united states as pro posed in the measure now pending before the committee on the judie lary of the senate I 1 am giving this matter my very best attention and study it Is my view that our judicial system la Is ade ado quate to meet the present and tu fu ture demands of the country and I 1 shall oppose any measure having for tor for its purpose such a drastic change in our judicial system very truly yours william H king united states senate march 3 1937 mr richard S morrison delta utah dear mr morison I 1 appreciate your writing with re to the supreme court problem frankly I 1 cannot say that I 1 thor hughly agree with your stand on this problem I 1 have given this problem much study and consideration but of cours cannot say just what the real issue of the matter will be as yet the proposal has been submit ted to the senate judiciary commit tee but as yet they have not report ed it out for full consideration therefore the problem which we are about today might be in an entirely different form after the committee has deaeth with it I 1 am enclosing a copy of a recent radio talk I 1 have given on the sub eject which outlines some of my views on the subject sincerely yours elbert D thomas |
