Show y 11 ILLIS SAI SAVAGE AGE f balter after a prolonged illness willis avage former principal of the del ta high school died in the veterans hospital in salt lake city mr air savage evage was forty six years old and had been principal of the school mince 1924 he ile was born at hyrum n received an education and fulfilled a mission tor for the L D 3 S church to scotland his major ob eject in life was service to others and he took courses in sociology at berkeley in order to better quality blin himself self in his appointed field of la bor he ile married blanche and to them were born three chil dren two sons and a daughter ill 11 pt jot whom survive him mr air savage was also a veteran of the world war mr air savage was loved hy by the stud ent body and individually by each of the students with many of whom he had given personal help to fur ther them in their studies his ills sole object in life was to be of service to his fellow man ind a nd he gave his life to that end carrying on at the last when the body was sorely tried to keep up he ile is survived by both of 0 his pal pai ants who live at hyrum and by his big widow and three children and the following brothers and sisters mrs A L stenberg of salt lake cit mrs airs 11 R adams alonzo fernett and gordon savage of hyrum mis J E stains of delta and mrs E T van leuven of bakersfield cal funeral services were held at del ta wednesday with the following speakers pe akers E 13 blyman L lyman superintendent W A paxton his brother alonzo sav say age wiard ward moody representing the faculty and student body of the del ta high school and pres joe jos T fi pi i linson each speaker brought out the ideal of service which he lidd for the american legion was pres ent members of the school board and many students both of late years and of the past also many workers of the american red cros in which organization he had depre tented the west side of county it had been his expressed deslie to be burled buried with hia big father and mother in hyrum and interment was performed there mr savage was a kind and genair father a thoughtful husband and as a man one untainted with th sordidness of the world devoting his hii being and achieving his aim in life in bis his chosen field that of service to youth the chronicle joins with the corn com in condolence to the family upon his untimely passing beyond |
