Show I 1 OUN G if IN STRUCK BI 1 cul CIR LN friday night after the junior prom it R L turner as asked ked a group of young men to help him lift a car out of the mud the effort did not move the car and so george evans son of mr air and mrs john evans of leamington leavington Lea said he would get his car and pull it out As he was cros sing the street a car driven by harri son bunker came from the east turned at the crossing and coming at a high rate of speed hit evans as be he was crossing the road the bumper of the car caught him in the back of the knees and threw him high in the air a ir he ile struck the ground on his head and shoulders the car that hit him failed to stop and deputy sheriff R L turner who had witnessed the whole event hailed another car and caught up with bunker several blocks from the accident it Is alleged that the young man later admitted that he had struck evans but allegedly did not know low serious it was turner went back to the scene of the accident and had evans taken to the hospital it was found that he had a severe con cession of the brain and wag was bruised about the knees and legs he ile was later taken home and al though he has not been out of bed since he feels somewhat better than he has the matter bas has been turned over to the town |
