Show SOA SOIS KILLED I 1 IN earl hearle the sixteen year old ison aon of mr and lira mrs marion henrie of delta was injured in an accident late saturday afternoon and died forty minutes later earl had left delta with a party of 0 thirty eight boys the future farmers of amer lea tea on august 21 and they were touring the parks the party had gone through the yellowstone park and the grand teton park and were on their way over the teton pass intending to go by way of swan val ley and bear lake to logan to at tend the convention there of the future farmers the accident occurred between victor idaho and jackson wyo ming on the teton pass the boys were making he trip in a large chevrolet truck with eldro jeffrey driving dewane jensen vocational agricultural teacher from the delta high had charge of the expedition in coming down the pass in order to negotiate the grade the road makes a number of S curves the truck was having heavy going in low ow gear and a number of the boys got off and were making their way down av v foot toot cutting across the curves as the truck came down the road farl F art and a companion I 1 irl arl gillies had walked across pile one is curve and got onto the road again to climb on to the truck when the accident occurred farl fart gillies made the truck safely but earl henria slipped or lost his hoi hol I 1 and fell un der the truck the truck was trav tray elling at a very low rate of speed not to exceed six miles an hour as some boys bad had walking alongside the ruck truck and kept up easily the back wheel of the truck passed over the boy across the groin when the other boys cried to the driver to stop who intent upon the road had not known of the tragic accident within ten minutes mr air chase rich of pingree idaho drove by and helped load the injured boy in his car to take him to the hospital in jackson about twelve miles dis tant mr jensen phoned ahead there to 0 o the doctor who met the party on the he road but farl died just as they drove into the hospital about forty minutes after the accident members of the hearle family were apprised here late saturday afternoon of the tragedy and arrangements range iange ments were made to meet the t i body in salt lake city no blame attaches to any member of the party in his this fatal accident as it was entirely accidental and un tin avoidable funeral services were held in delta on tuesday afternoon in the delta second ward under tinder the diorec tion of bishop stephenson the speakers were bishop L L lyman dewane jensen horace cutler of S silt tit lake city mra airs henries s broth er stake president finlinson bishop terry and closing demars s by bishop stephenson interment was in the delta cemetery with tha ded prayer by willis savage larl was a member of the jopho more class of the delta high school this year and a good student with an excellent record it seemed he had bad the abilities and aej strength of character to make a fine man and citizen and the entire community extend their sympathy to the bereaved family t earl is survived by his parents parent sl and the following brothers and sla sis mrs airs arte henderson enderson II cutler I 1 fondd varlo mrs rayda rawlin son kyle ward and nina |
