Show cil IRLI S 11 IN V charles M cochran n of the north tract died monday morning june ath at the age of seventy mr cochran had been in falling failing health for some time and gradually became weaker charles monroe cochran was born in ohio january 14 1861 being attracted by the sea at an ear ly age he took service with a train ing ship in a few years he took up his life work that of a police of aicer and special police agent work this work took him all over the ted states and into parts of canada he served many years in this capac ity seeking criminals on one such occa oc casian mr cochran got shot thru the mouth badly cutting his tongue which left a difficulty in speech that he never got over his life was var led full of interest and his feminis ances of his experiences were like a fast moving western full of ex cit ement movement danger and thrills for nearly thirty three years he followed the work of a police officer and as his capabilities became known he was assigned to the more difficult tasks requiring competed com cy judgment and care in their execution during all this period his headquarters were at denver when the spanish american war came mr cochran served with the colorado infantry volunteers and was in active discharge of his mill tary duties in the philippines when in a charge I 1 e received an injury to his knee from which he never ed while convalescing from that he took down with typhoid fever his service in the philippines cover ed about a year and a halt half and when peace was declared he was di ed with high endorsements of his character chai acter and conduct he lie came to delta in 1913 cherb he lie has lived ever since funeral services were held by the masonic lodge of which he was a member and the body shipped to denver for interment he is survived by his widow anna cochran mr cochran was a man of great probity of character strictly honest and never intentionally sought an advantage his ilia passing is deeply mourned by those he became antl inti mate with |
