Show 1 Y CROP GF BL PORT temperatures were above normal all week without precipitation be ing ideal NN weather eather tor for outdoor work the beet harvest Is nearly done and more wheat is coming up but fall plowing progressed with difficulty as precipitation is badly needed livestock are in fair to good con generally many herds are on winter range adeas in the eastern portion but blit them western areas have not yet been occupied tor for want of forage and now tor for moisture some farm pastures are getting short and livestock ire not gaining as d desired weather conditions favored outdoor work at logan more fall wheat is coming up in salt lake valley ap pies ples and potatoes have been bar tested nested at provo but a few beets are in the cattle on local pastures are fair but are not gaining the ground must be water ed before it can be plowed mantl ranges are in about average condition moisture is available at moderate elevations elev eions and sheep are remaining nearby cattle are largely on farm farms pastures doing fairly well some plowing is being done without watering the land the beet bar vest is nearing completion at rich field and some plowing was done after irA irrigating gating the land livestock are in the fields but pastures are getting short some grain was planted in water ed ground at deseret the cedar city winter range is practically with out feed or water light snowfall a week ago in the duchesne district helped livestock and the lower ran I 1 excellent weather prevailed at vernal where fall work Is nearly finished warm sunny days and cold nights at price were fine for fall work but the country is badly in need of moisture livestock are still good crops have been gather ed at escalante and livestock have moved to winter ranges J C altel |
