Show FORMER EDITOR 31 MILLARD ILLARD V BE VIES DIES AT 87 josiah F gibbs died at his home in marysvale Marys vale at the advanced age ot of eighty seven from ailments aliments incident to old age josiah F gibbs was a former res dent of millard county and was ed aitor tor of the old millard county blade which was published many years ago mrs mayme kelly damron set type on that paper and alex melville was once its business manager and leading member of its reportorial report onal staff of one after leaving delta mr air gibbs went to marysvale Marys vale he tilled filled a mission to england and served the church tor for many years he was an indian war veteran and an able and force tul ful speaker he ile was the chief speak er of the day at the unveiling of the gunnison monument on memorial day in 1927 mr air gibbs was the best writer who ever lived in millard county and besides being the author of several volumes his arti articles cRes have appeared in newspapers and not long ago in the utah state quarterly on the subject of the black hawk war he was active in politics and took it seriously which added zest to his polemics after a debatable election he re is survived by five sons and daughters miss alice M gibbs of los angeles who was with him at the time of his death dr grover francis gibbs and vernon gibba gibbs of los angeles H spencer gibbs of Marys marysvale vale and two sisters mrs J W kelly of salt lake and mrs jas A melville sr of salt lake city |
