| Show REPORTS ON AT CAPITAL attorney J A melville returned from washington D C on may 1st while there he urged the enact ment of the bill tor for the relief of drainage and levy districts which affects thirty five states and more than eight million acres of land the land which will be affected Is located principally in the west middle states and the southern states mr air melville says that the bill has miny many m iny supporters and he pred acts that it will be enacted into law but owing to present financial conditions of the united states treasury funds will not be available tor for six months or a year he further says that the western states must perfect a per manent organization to properly pre sent their claims to the secretary of the just as soon as funds are available tor for loaning purposes mr melville is very ladu atory of the splendid work congressman Cong col ton is doing in the house not only in support of this bill but of other measures affecting utah |
