Show OLDEST COUNTY RESIDENT PASSES george B Che chesley sicy age 91 years george B chesley died at the home of his daughter mrs airs george rowley friday june ol of ailments encumber ant with extreme old age lie he would have been 92 years old this september second ile he was born in the state of 0 iowa in 1847 and came to utah with ills his parents in 1852 coming coining first to provo As a youth he made trips from there to california with freight later becoming a pony express rider with the early pony express ile he was a black hawk war veteran being stationed near provo at that time later he drove a stage from provo to Pio clie nevada before coining permanently to millard billiard co which was almost 70 years ago As a resident of the county lie he has been actively engaged in livestock and farming until recent years when tailing failing eyesight handicapped his otherwise active old age for the last ten years lie he has resided with his daughter mrs emily howley in fillmore he married mary alary ann george of hatton in 1874 and to this marriage were born six children of whom the following survive mary alary emery rowley C F chesley fillmore james F chesley los angeles and mrs pas fae smith of salt lake city also IS 18 grandchildren and 16 great grand children funeral services were held in kanosh monday afternoon bishop lloyd rogers having charge ot of the services as follows anthem by the choir we shall meet beyond the river prayer by joseph morris beautiful isle of 0 somewhere by the choir bishop preal george was the first speaker following which mr air fred whitaker sang a solo mrs airs alice watts was the second speaker to followed by a solo by mrs helen rogers max and homer whitaker sang a duet after which peter L brunson pronounced the benediction the grave was dedicated by E L black out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral mr air and mrs joseph morris and mr and mrs airs less walbeck of greenville mr air and mrs airs joe hunter holden mr air and mrs airs E A smith mrs airs douglas Al murphy urphy airs phil poulson of 0 salt sail lake city mr air and mrs airs william rowley of rigby idaho mr air and mrs dale pearson mr air and mrs francis chesley of delta mrs airs rayma cline and daughter darlene of cedar city |
