Show AT H 11 S GRADUATES LAR GEST CLASS IN HISTORY OF SCHOOL tonight at eight the commencement men cement exercises for or seventy nine senior students will be held this Is the largest graduation class in the history ot of millard high school principal wright announces that the readers digest award for or scholastic achievement has been won by the valedictorian or of the class ot of 1939 rhea robins scipio utah she will receive an engrossed parchment certificate upon graduation the readers digest confers this annual award as encouragement to young men and women throughout the nation who by their scholastic achievement give promise of becoming leaders in their communities at the state track meet which was held in salt lake city last friday paul baker took fourth place in ili the javelin dean hinckley made quite a showing in tennis although lie ho did not reach the top the af 11 S year books were given to tile the students last wednesday these year books have been a lot of work but we all feel that they were well worth our time miss bosh Is to be complimented on the splendid way in which she handled this project the faculty of M 11 II S have been working on a landscaping and lower flowed planting project to beautify the campus ot of our school four different plots have been assigned to eight teachers miss bosh and mr air have the plot in front of the music room mr air gordon and miss wilson are responsible tor for the south side of the gym mr air rogers and miss stailey havene ground on the south afi 41 1 of of the gym miss wright and mr air hales have the plot west of the main building the teachers are doing their utmost to make the various flower beds attractive with different species of flowers and different designs and color schemes the music department feels eels satisfied with the work accomplished this year mr air says we have tried to be available at all times tor for program material the opera went over tine fine and each organization including band orchestra and glee have done fairly good work there much credit given tor for music and students in many cases take it without credit quite a sacrifice has been made at times for them to be on the job for or special activities where here they could have otherwise enjoyed an easier life music is the heart of every organization and should receive the fullest support from all now that the time of closing our school Is at hand we wish to express our thanks tor for all the support and interest which the townspeople have given us in our activities without this interest and help our school life this year would not have been so successful vada iada allen alien journalism class |
