that this council is composed of leading industrialists and scientists of the united states tor for the purpose of 0 aiding agriculture principally by finding new uses tor for the products of 0 the soil the organization Is nonpolitical and has the support of some of 0 the greatest men of the nation while the article Is long it contains some very interesting information tor for anyone who likes to give our agricultural problems serious it reports effort in several places of 0 the united states to manufacture paper power alcohol etc from products of the soil these activities are in the interest of creating new agricultural markets the council also employed a group of 0 workers to mako make a carelus study of agricultural ri supplies and markets they also investigated the export trade some of the councils conclusions in this field of activity are very pointed they report that there la Is little if any hope of greatly increasing european markets tor for american agricultural products tor for the simple reason of a general policy among all nations to try to be self salt supporting then the report points out that instead of gaining foreign markets we are actually losing our
