Show irrigation controversy MAY BE SETTLED tuesday january 5 an action was filed here in the district court by a group of owners ot or high water right in the chalk creek irrigation company to determine the point of division between first class or low water and secona secona class or high water rights the action was tiled filed by attorney dudley crafts of delta it IC made the chalk creek irrigation company all the owners of first class water stock and all the owners of second class water stock who had refused to join the action parties defendant for some time there had been an effort made to settle the differences out of court and members of the board of directors understood that thai further further effort to settle was to be made As soon as the action was tiled filed therefore tile the board called a meeting of all tile the plaintiffs to ascertain it if possible just what they want arid and mako make a final effort to compromise the differences this meeting was held last tuesday tour four of the five members of the board boar d a good representation of the plaintiffs and attorney crafts being present reports lle ports are to the effect that everyone present took a very tair fair attitude and the expressed opinion was unanimously in favor of settlement the plaintiffs present promised to contact those who did not attend with reference to a settlement which they expressed themselves as being willing to make the board promised to contact the defendant stockholders it is expected that committees will be appoint led to work out details arid and that a proposed settlement will be presented to the stockholders at their regular meeting in february |
