| Show SCHOOL BOARD MEETS seizes C bonds to be retired the board of 0 education held their regular meeting tuesday and attended to a number of matters matter preparatory to the opening ot of schools next monday the board decided to call in series A and 13 bonds ot of the issue of 0 AP an 1 I 1932 on october 1933 stopping atop the interest after that date these bonds do not maturi until april of next year but inasmuch as the district will have sufficient funds with which to dettre them by oct they are going to call thorn them in fit in order to stop this ibis interest there is about in series A and B bonds outstanding the board will then have only series C of 0 this issue outstanding they can ho be retired any time up until april 1937 they expect to realize enough money from the liquidation of the securities held tor for the bank deposit to redeem all of these remaining bonds so that none of 0 this amount will have to be raised by taxation it will probably be ot of interest to the taxpayers of 0 the district to know that of this issue was never placed on the market in other words only about worth of the bonds which were voted upon and authorized after the funds of the district were tied up in the state bank ot of millard county when that institution became insolvent were ever sold the board decided to otter offer employment to miss matilda peterson tor for one month as a primary supervisor in this district miss peterson was formerly supervisor 0 of primary education in the office of the state supt bupt 0 of schools and has spent much time in millard county in this capacity la in tact fact she has visited our schools here on several occasions paying her own expenses to the district according to present plans 6 or 7 0 of the dIstricts ot of the state that do not employ a primary supervisor will cooperate in offering ott ering miss peterson employment thus receiving the benefit of 0 her rich experience in this field at a minimum of expense to each district only one bus will be used to transport the students from flowell this year but it will be a larger bus than those used other years the kanosh ath grade students will be transported to fillmore this year thus doing away with the ath grade in that school simms bishop and robison of gandy candy met with the board and asked that the gandy school be reestablished according to the facts presented there are two children of 0 school age living at gandy and there are tour four living 8 miles from gandy who will have to be transported to the gandy school the board had previously passed a resolution to allow per pupil per month tor for any of 0 these students attending any ot of the county schools but upon representation ot of this committee to the effect that their homes were located there and that it practical tor for them to send their children away to school the board decided to grant their request leo probert of 0 scipio has been employed as a teacher and also to tran transport rt tho the forur to ur to school |
