Show STAN P PRIMARY SENDS senar FLOAT TO SALT LAKE LAHR the stake primary officers ot of millard stake are to be congratulated tor for their efforts and success la in sending their float representing the old state house and neighboring mountains to the big jubilee parade held in salt lake city last saturday june 9 the big float 16 by 36 feet was a I 1 credit to all who contributed to its preparation and all from millard stake who saw it in the big parade were justly proud of it tile tho parade was one of the biggest and most beautiful and artistic yet seen in salt lake and this float rancid with the best only those who were intimately associated with its construction know of the expense and effort spent in its preparation the total cost will approximate it contained a massive base decorated with cedar pine and white sage twigs sewed artistically entirely around the body of the float at one end was the state house with three legislators presumably from their arduous legislative duties towards the center was an indian tepee and two indian squads squaws the end opposite the state stale house was built up to represent is a massive mountain capped in snow from which a crystal astr stream earo ot of water flowed lowed it wai was impressive beautiful and a credit to our stake mr 7 leonard wood ot of holden designed and built the float with the help of others mr B E M hanson of fillmore was wa the chief builder of the house and mr fred watts of kanosh was chief painter pa later ot of the house mr john L dame patented the mountain A host of people tool took bartan bart ln its preparation we are especially grateful to jas IL A kelly who rho furnished the transportation por tation for or the ahe minta miniature capitol to salt lake city the primary officers e k are deeply grate fardo all allwoo who anyway any way in tho success of thou undertaking the building isnow Is now on exhibit in arable capitol building at salt lake city where it will be andson tourists who make the capitola point of interest |
