Show miniature state house to represent millard stake at primary diamond jubilee mr E 11 M hanson has just finished the construction of a miniature state house bouse for the millard stake primary the building will be placed on a 36 ft long and it along with many others from the different stakes will form a parade to take place during the diamond jubilee of the primary association saturday june ath in salt lake city the float will be covered with green bows which will resemble a green lawn about the state house on each side of this miniature building the words millard stake will be formed of gay colored flowers this building la Is a wonderful reproduction of the old state house being built to look exactly as aa it did before any remodeling was ever done it la Is built throughout to the scale of 1 A 4 in to one toot foot lumber was used tor for the base studding rafters rat cornice and outside panels the cornice especially represents some very expert and tedious work as it Is finely carved all around the building the walls and the root roof are made of compo board the building has three stairways just as it had when originally erected the whole structure Is a tribute to tile the careful workmanship of mr air hanson the painting was done by mr fred watts of kanosh and it Is certainly a good job the root roof la is painted green the walls are marked oft off in red brick squares and the windows exactly as they were with many small lights in three sashes to a window mr watts Is to be complimented ted on the painting tor for the finished product when standing at a distance indeed looks like the old state house ie ayo co not know what disposition A ltv o e made of this replica of our first capitol but we think a place should be found tor for it inthe in the state capitol at salt lake city mr air james A kelly went to salt lake the last of the week bringing his wife and daughters madelene and remola home mr air james mountford was a fillmore visitor yesterday mr air lafayette morrison Morr lson was a business visitor in town tuesday mr eugene has returned from salt lako lake where he attended the U of U during the past winter |
