Show FAVORABLE REPORT ON SCHOOL DISTRICT we have recently had tile the opportunity ot of going over the 1925 20 annual report of the millard coun county t Y school district submitted to tile tho school board by county supt bupt farnsworth this report la Is complete and covers the progress of 0 f the schools during the past year very thoroughly our space does not permit printing the report in full however it reflects so favorably the creditable condition of our school system and the efficiency with which our schools have been supervised that we wish to express our impressions after studying the report somewhat lit in detail the report covers items as follows 1 A general statement 2 school population enrollment and attendance 3 principals and teachers 4 supervision 5 transportation 6 health 7 high schools and junior schools schoola 8 buildings and grounds 9 finances supt bupt Farn general statement indicates that he Is well pleased with the success of the millard county schools lit in general the superintendent in also feels the united coop co op oration of the school board and tile the ino fine spirit displayed by tho the school patrons A detailed report of the enrollment and attendance with coni comparisons parl in regard to the school population tor for all years since 1916 shows allows a steady and constant improvement this report which Is in tubular tabular form forin also shows a decided increase in tho the percent of promotion to those who are more captious wo we wish to say bay that the portion of supt bupt Farn report which deals with school population enrollment and attendance ro rc fleets tile the utmost efficiency in this phase of school administration it has undoubtedly required mai many I 1 y hours of careful work and thought that section of ta the ie report given to principals and teachers shows allows that the superintendents office has been in ill close touch with the teaching force and is prepared to aid in constructive suggestions which will enable the teacher to give more efficient service school supervision has been a decided benefit as a means of uniting our system and assisting the teachers in their different problems which many times can only be mastered by the aid of competent supervisors mrs neeley has supervised and visited the primary teachers as well as assisted a grent great deal with tho the grant grani nier mer grades the report indicates that next year it Is planned to relieve the principals of a part of their clerical and teaching work that they may give more time to supervision of the work ot of their particular school the problem of transportation in tile the district is of great importance and the report shows allows that all available data has been gathered and sufficient in study has been expended to on able the board to intelligently plan tor for the transportation needs in the future those plans have been set act out in a recent issue of the progress tile the report shows allows that careful study and considerable effort has been expended expanded to improve lin provo tho the health of our school population the report of the condition of tho the high schools la Is significant in that it shows an tile rease of over high school students in the past 6 years it also shows allows that our school system la is devoted as much to high school education as it Is to tile will speak for their solves in regard to the financial section of tho the 1925 25 report at the beginning of the school year we bad a sinking fund of CS with a bonded indebtedness of our present will likely he be out two weeks yet I 1 have hastily read the report and wish to commend you on oil its general excellence I 1 was particularly pleased to note tile policy which you propose adopting this present school year in fit regard to supervision it seems to mo me superintendent farnsworth Farns woith that it if the principal could bo be relieved of teaching to some little extent so that lie he may have time to do much needed supervisory work that a point will bo be gained it if your supervisor and principal can go over the work quite thoroughly and exhaustively hau together so that tile the principal will know what Is expected in ill supervision and it if the supervisor will check up to see sea that efficient clent supervision Is actually given then we can call hope toi for currl cular activities of a number of your schools such activities as tho the opera the drama draina debates athletics etc are all to bo be commended naturally wo we all look at the splendid showing in finance we take noto note of the reduction of your indebtedness and of the judicious expenditure of the funds you secured for building purposes and improvements I 1 think you have lone done well to
