| Show MRS ESTHER CRITCHLEY HN I 1 HES zua CAREER after an ail illness ot of about three months mrs esther critchley died at the homo home of 0 her daughter mr andrew rogers last sunday night death came as a relief to her afeei hor long period ot of illness due to heart trouble she was well cared tor for by her children all thel while and all of them were here at the time ot of her death she see had lived a long and useful lifo life and had reached the age ot of 79 years 4 months and 2 days funeral ker services vices were held last wednesday memorial day at the ward chapel bishop joseph F anderson in charge the speakers were william D melville bishop parker P robison Rob lson F A robison Rob lson and bishop joseph F andeson anderson the opening prayer was offered by james C peterson and the benediction by hans C hanson the ward choir rendered appropriate musio under the leadership ot of grover A giles the dedicatory prayer at the cemetery was vas offered by pet er L Bru brunson agoa sirs airs critchley was born at prescott lancashire england january in 1867 she was was married to edward critchley seven children born to them but to of 0 these died while they were still living in eng land her husband died while the children were young and she was left alone with the responsibility 0 of tho the young family through the work ot of missionaries from utah she be camo a convert to the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and she and her family came to utah in the year 1887 sho she camel camei direct to fillmore which place has been the home ot of her children until the present time sho she moved to salt lake alter after two years residence in fillmore and returned to fillmore about seven years ago sho she Is survived by five children mrs airs andrew mrs airs hans hana william critchley lewis critchley and mrs noah rogers thelle are also among her living posterity a goodly number 0 of grandchild ren and great grandchildren A host 0 of relatives and friends attended the services and a large co tege ot of cars made up the p procession from the home to the chapel and thence to the tho the floral offerings were beautiful and profuse and were among thi many evidences of 0 the high esteem in ill which mrs airs critchley was held tho the speakers at the funeral elaborated upon the many fine qualities of character shown in the life of the deceased and her influence as a mother as reflected in the lives of her five surviving children all of whom have led lives ot of industry morality anil are all examples of good citizens and good neighbors in tho ther face of poverty and adversity mrs critchley and her young children devoted themselves like true pioneers to the task of making a live chood in ill this new land in this they have shown what can be accomplished through industry and courage a odds that would have discouraged many it was pointed out that mrs critch eys ays family has always been strongly united and devoted to her as lone one head ot of the family not only did her nf luence as a good mother show itsel in her own family but she took the place ot of a mother of others who were deprived of that boon there are those who lived near her and with her in salt lake who feelingly ot of her heY motherly kindness to them sho was truly a good woman and a good christian soul who remained steadfast to her faith in the end her life was an eloquent story of 0 good deeds and kind service and love her influence upon the lives of those who knew her will live long after her death and many will revere her and bless her memory she is one who lived to make the world better and a mord licia venly place in which to live her earth life has been an experience that will contribute to her heavenly happl happiness ness even though sho she had reached a good old ago and was welt well prepared to pass to the beyond her passing carried with it pangs of sorrow at the parting carting and a void that time can scarcely fill |
