Show FILLMORE SMALL FLOODS of late th the e mountains east of fillmore and the watershed of this place have been visited almost daily with thunder showers which are just severe enough to bring down a small flood of thick mud practically every afternoon these freshets fresh ets are very aggravating agrava ting as they inconvenience the people of this place considerable besides doing some little damage in the first place every hood flood means that the city will be without culinary culi nery wat er and that the good people will have to camel it for at least twelve hours it also means to people with land in the old field section that their small diverting d m in the old creek channel will be washed out gut and that they will lose at least y four hours irrigating it happened that the first part of the week this dam was washed out repeatedly as fast as it be put in for three days in succession also people whose lot it ift happens to be to irrigate here in town just when a flood is coming down are obliged to either let their lot go dry 0 scover it with a layer of sticky dry mud we however can console ourselves that we will riot always be as badly posted as this at this time of the year in the future in the first place this is an ex bad year for floods although we often have them much larger than they seem to be this year we probably have never before had them with such frequency also our proposed new waterworks water works extension will mean that so far as culinary culi nery water is concerned we will never be troubled again and that touris tourists ests Is will not have to walk all over town trying to buy or beg a little water to make their mornings coatee but then it is good to know that these disagreeable cir are controllable contro lable and I 1 hat it is merely a matter of time till ill ve will know thena them no morer |
