Show HOLDEN we have been having considerable storm of late severa several times our canals have been washed was lied out by floods coming down the canyons last evening the road was filled with boulders and debries on the pioneer neer creek south of holden making the road almost impassable the storms will do considerable good and to date no harnage damage has been done on saturday quite a crowd of our people were out driving rabbits they were successful in killing several hundred tile the bennett bros are putting up a kiln of brick wonder wonder what jolin john is planning mr paul is visiting with his bis parents after about ten years absence in nevada where lie married and settle d his wife and mother in law are with him mrs nicholas paul panl and children are home after an extended visit with her husband at ruth kuth nev 14 there is ample stock of corn on exhibition at john woods store that measures 12 ft 8 in it has three ears band and measures 0 6 ft to first ane the corn is still growing a sample of which we will try and secure for our county fair the corn is being grown by mr edgar turner from seed he be secured from froin mr sampson of delta and ori originally 1 anally came from ten I 1 our stockmen stoc kmen are gathering up a car of beef cows this week hey aliey are getting bic on oil foot which is considered q a very good price A petition is being circulated in ill favor of consolidating our schools but few have signed it so far the question has not been discussed but little a great many of our people do not understand the advantages of consolidation the holden school district voted in ill favor of bonding to build a new school building a special tax has been levied this season in and balance will be raised by bonding this fall probably an 8 roon building will be put up mr bruce ste stephenson enson has gone to cedar city for a few da days ys on oil important bu business mr leon wilson and wife have been in the mountains for afew days while there they lost a valuable horse horge hor ge by being struck with lightening |
