Show Mayor Francis Will Open 9th Ogden Livestock Show Exhibits Eclipse Former Showing, $15,000 Prize Money Ogden's ninth annual livestock show will get underway on Saturday, January Jan-uary 7, when President Charles H. Barton, Mayor Frank Francis and Ogden Og-den City Commissioners Harmon W. Peery and Fred E. Williams formally open the show. The exposition, including includ-ing the choice showings of livestock from throughout the entire United States, will continue until the following follow-ing Thursday, January 12. Ample assurance that this show will far eclipse any of the previous ehhi-bits ehhi-bits is given by Secretary Jesse S. Richards, who has received reports from twenty states and Canada of entries to compete for the $15,000 in prize money which is posted for winners win-ners in cattle, sheep and hog depart- : ments. The show will be the third to be held in the new coliseum, which was barely completed for the 1926 show, and now embodies all the fine features of a showplace for stock. As a place to exhibit, to entertain and to provide comfort for all patrons it is not excelled ex-celled by any other stock show. Without With-out a doubt, it is one of the largest and finest show places in the country. Ogden, too, is displaying real en-thuiasm en-thuiasm for the show. The city is spreading itself to make visitor welcome. wel-come. The invitation to "Spend your winter vacation in Ogden" is being broadcast, and Ogden is ready to be gracious host to the largest crowd of people yet to come to the show. Quality in every department is the watchword of the show, and with entry already assured of many nationally known herds the officials are confident that in this respect the show will surpass sur-pass even the most brilliant exhibits of previous years.
