Show WHY SHOULDN'T THEY FIGHT? A number of press dispatches feature fea-ture stories to the effect that public utilities have organized to defeat schemes for public ownership of industry. in-dustry. The inference is given that they are doing something wrong by such action. No reports of equal prominence are published to show that individual and organizations favoring ahe establishment establish-ment of a socialistic government in this nation are centering their attacks for the monent on public utilities. Is it any more undesirable for the public utilities or any other business to organize openly and fight for their lives, than it is for individuals and organizations to surreptitiously seek to undermine the right of private ownership of porperty by attacking some industry on the ground that public ownership of business is necessary nec-essary to protect the people? Such ownership takes away rights which the people now enjoy. |
