Show 1 State of Utah to Receive Noteriety The dinosaur caravan arrived safely at its destination, the University Univer-sity of Utah, on Wednesday and terminated ter-minated an event never before duplicated du-plicated in the history of the world. It was the most unique procession to ever trail the western country. The caravan was made up of 19 wagons wa-gons laden with 60,00 pounds of dinosaur din-osaur bones said to be about 25,000,-000 25,000,-000 years old. Many similar trains have wended their way over the western plains, but never one with such a cargo as this. Much hard and tiring work has been consumed in chiseling these skeletons from their stony grace in what is now nationally known as the Dinosaur Quarry at Jensen, Utah. The bones, which are now at the University, will be mounted and plae ed upon display so that people may gaze upon the remains of the prehistoric pre-historic creatures which inhabited the forests an dswamp lands of the earth at that time. Visitors will assemble as-semble from all parts of the earth to see the University collection and to learn their history. According to Dr. Fred J. Pack of the University of Utah, there are at present only two buildings in Salt Lake large enough 'o house the largest of the massive skeletons, the State Capitol and the Tabernacle. Through this unique caravan the University and the State of Utah will be presented to the world both ini motion pictures "and in newspapers. Photographs and motion picture were taken throughout the entire line of march from the time the procession pro-cession left Jensen 'till the priceless bones were unpacked and stored away. The pictures have been sent to every leading newspaper in the U. S., along with an interesting story of the history-making caravan. The motion pictures will be displayed in the news topics of the day in picture houses throughout the world, showing show-ing to every nationality what a wonderful won-derful place the State of Utah is. |
