Show EXTENDING AID TO AUSTRI ANS Allies Considering Loan to Prevent Utter Collapse of Nation. Paris. The allies are understood to be considering another effort to save Austria by floating a loan equivalent to $250,000,000, as proposed by the Austrian section of the reparations commission. This sum, experts say, will be sufficient to enable the country coun-try to put its industries to work and gradually become self-supporting. France is in favor of this project, but is unable to furnish the funds. The complete political collapse of Austria within a month is expected in official Austrian circles here. "It is no longer a question of months,' said Baron Eichoff, the Aus-trial Aus-trial minister to France. "It is only a question of weeks, perhaps days." |
