Show APPOINTMENTS President Harding has made some 0f the est appointments lately. He seems to have a method all his own. He doesn't care a whoop whether Senator Lodge or Firum Johnson likes it or not. All he appears ap-pears to care is. that he is his friend and can do the work required. His appointhient of Chas. G. Dawes to the new and important job of par- ing down the budget, is rather pecul- ; iar and also very acceptable to the j people. Dawes is not a politician, and , . it is doubtful if he, himself knew 2 ', years ago, the difference between a ; good democrat and a republican, and ! really the only qualification he ha shown for the job, is his knowledge of profanity and his ability to do things in the shortest time, with the least red tape. S Harding's administration will make a record for itself if he contin-' contin-' ues to appoint men like Hoover and f Dawes. t- . a |
