Show The Pierian club met at the home of Mrs. A. E. Smith Monday evening and a very interesting program was enjoyed, which consisted of "Memories "Memo-ries of Joseph Conrad," Jaunita Miller; Mil-ler; "Letter of Joseph Conrad to John Galsworth," Mrs. Roy White. I Current events, Mrs. Henry Bowman. - After the program was given a deli- cious luncheon was served to the I following members, Mesdames Bax- ter, Bowman, Steenbock, Roy White, 1 Wilson, Nebeker, Young, Markham, Miller, Miss Louise Levi and Ardath Johnson. Mrs. Bert Hoagland entertained with a card party at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. 500 was played and resulted in first club prize being won by Mrs. Spencer Schow, second club prize, Mrs. Jack Thiessen, club prize, Mrs. S. C. Ruschmeier and consolation, consola-tion, Mrs. Leo Sheehan, At the close of the evening a dainty luncheon was served to the following ladies: Mesdames Mes-dames Waddington, Bowman, Thiessen, Thies-sen, Tanner, Sheehan, Farmer, Coon, Palmer, Lee, Ruschmeier, Hoagland. Mrs. Ruth Williams was, hostess to the Saturday afternoon bridge club at her home December 11. The prize for points was won by Mrs. J. R. Murdock, prize for honors, Mrs. Charles Moore, and the guest prize was won by Mrs. Rodgers. The members present were: Mesdames J. R. Murdock, Charles Sloan, Charles Moore, Paul Evans and . Floyd Casterline, the guests were Mesdames Rolf Bellingmo, Frank Calloway, and Mrs. Rodgers. A delicious two-course two-course hot dinner was served. Mrs. Clark Kesler entertained .the Bridge club at her home Friday night. She had three tables of bridge which resulted in first club prize' being awarded to Mrs- George Fernley, second club prize, to Mrs. Frank Farmer and consolation, Mrs. Joe Kinney, The club members were friends who attended us in our bereavement. be-reavement. The love bestowed and assistance rendered was indeed comforting. com-forting. Especially do we appreciate the wonderful floral offerings. Mrs. George Atkin and family. Mesdames George Fernley, Joe Kinney, Kin-ney, Frank Farmer, Joe Murdock, W. W. Markham. Invited guests were Mesdames Myron Lewis, S. C. Ruschmeier, Rusch-meier, Jack Thiessen, Milton Pool and Al Cline. After spending an interesting in-teresting evening of cards, delicious refreshents were served. . The Jolly Stitchers met at the home of Mrs. Antone Johnson Thursday Thurs-day afternoon and had a very interesting inter-esting afternoon in form of a Christmas Christ-mas party. The house was attractively attractive-ly decorated in Christmas colors and a pretty Christmas tree was cleverly decorated with gifts for each one. Much mirth and merriment was enjoyed en-joyed during the distribution of the gifts. At 4:30 after the guests had .sewed for awhile a tasty luncheon was served by Mrs. Johnson to the following follow-ing ladies: Mesdames Nebeker, Schow, Fred Levi, Tanner Miller, Lang, Pitchforth, Johnson, Smith, and Hedges. Hed-ges. The invited guests were: Mesdames Mes-dames Maurice Johnson .Price and Bond. Ruth Chapter No. 6, O. E. S., held it's annual election of officers on the 7th of December. The following officers were elected and appointed and will be installed in their respective re-spective stations on their next meeting meet-ing night December 21st. Barren of Caliente, spent several days of this, week in our city. W. J. Norbeck of Winona, was in Milford this week on business. Mrs. Les Carter returned from Panguitch the forepart of the week, where she has spent some time visiting visit-ing her mother who has been . very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Denney and Garth Helgason of Caliente, came to Milford Mil-ford Wednesday to attend the wedding wed-ding of Mrs. Denney's daughter, Althea Helgason. Edwin Brickert of Delta, was in Milford this week supervising bus-ness bus-ness affairs. Miss Ardath Johnson left for Salt Lake City Wednesday evening for a i short visit. Bill Martin of Greenville, was in Milford Thursday of this week. |
