Show Grand Officers Make Visitation A large number of local three-linkers gathered in the I. 0. 0. F. hall Monday evening to receive an official visit from their grand officers, Mrs. Clara Sutherland, President of the Rebekah assembly and Henry Jeppson Grand Master of the Jurisdiction of Utah, from Payson. Colonel Karl S. Carlton, retired, formerly commander of the second regiment of the P. M. A. of the division of California presided. pre-sided. Mrs. Pearl Hunter, Noble Gland of the local Rebekah lodge, introduced the president of the As-j , ' ib'.y, Mrs. Sutherland, who gave an inspiring and eloquent talk on the aims and objects of the , Rebekah lodges. Mrs. Geneve Idol of Beaver, responded for the Beaver ladies who were present in body. S. A. Zabriska, Noble Grand of the Milford Odd Fellows escorted the Grand Master to the rostrum, where he was introduced. Mr. Jrjpson, who has been a member of the order for many years, was County Treasurer for Utah county for two terms, is a fluent talker, held his audience in rapt attention. Ed Rebman, Noble Grand of the Beaver lodge, spoke for that organize tion as did S. A. Zabriska for the local lo-cal lodge. Mrs. Vena Wilson spoke for the Milford Rebekahs. Other speakers were A. B. Cline, Arthur Smith, Angus Buchanan, Horace Palmer, Pal-mer, Mayor Hubbell, lone Smith, Mrs. Henrp Jeppson and John Idol. Violin and piano duets by Mrs. Outzen and Mr. Hubbell were well received. re-ceived. At the close of the program all repaired re-paired to the banquet room for a genuine feed, after which dancing was enjoyed by all who wished. Music was furnished by Mrs. Outzen and Mr. Hubbell and "Billy" Root. A large number of visitors from out-of-town were present to enjoy the evening, there . being delegations present from Beaver, Minersville, Eureka, Caliente, Payson, Salt Lake and southern California. The committees in charge of the evening's entertainment were Sadie Litchfield, Selma Carlson, Freda Outzen, Out-zen, Pearl Hunter and Stella Jennings Jen-nings for the Rebekahs and Roy Coleman, Robert Sherwood and Horace Hor-ace Palmer for the I. O. 0. F. |
