Show I The Lions club of Milford met on Wednesday noon at the Milford hotel ho-tel for their first real regular meet- j ing. Karl-ton, president of the cl'.'.b, called the meeting to order as the gong sounded the hour, and Parrish, cheer leader, accompanied by Kinney on the guitar, and Markham on the dentifone, started the jollity by Torturing Tor-turing that old. familiar song, Hai!! Hail! Lion Tamer Johansen was called by Hillary for not having the national nation-al emblem in place and fined $.-000. Lewis was- caught with two biscuits bis-cuits in his pocket and when asked for an explanation, he said his baby was hungry. The tail-twister soaked him the usual amount. In view of the fact that the Salt Lake chamber of commerce is sending send-ing a delegation headed by Governor Mabey to Ely to see what can be i done to avert the boycott by Ely bus-j iness houses against Salt Lake on ac- j count of the action taken in regards; :o the Wendover cut-off, Jefferson proposed that, the Lions club of Milford, Mil-ford, through its president, get in touch with the Salt Lake cimmittee. and request that they go to Ely via. the Arrowhead trail and Milford, and 'tha.' th committee be notified that ;a number of members would like to accompany them and present arg'- ments why travel should b sen tc j Ely this way and also presenting for j their consideration the beauties and 1 wonders of Lehman's cave as an additional ad-ditional inducement. The repi rt of the by-laws committee com-mittee wa.s taken up and it was agreed to hold two- luncheons a month, on the 2nd and 4th Wednes-I Wednes-I days at 11:4a. On the 1st and 3rd ' Wednesdav evenings at 7:30 there i will be sessions for business and pleasure. The next meeting will be held on May 21st in the town hall. |
