Show Cut High-grade Ore in Lenora Mine Star Dist. Operations in the Lenora mine, situated about eight miles from Milford Mil-ford in the Star district, are now entering en-tering the area where the downward extension of rich surface mineralization mineraliza-tion should be found at a depth of approximately 250 feet below the surface. For some time the company has followed a highly mineralized east-west east-west fissure . toward its intersection with a soluble limestone bed. On the surface, ore assaying eighty-five ounces oun-ces to the ton was found at this interjection in-terjection and followed down for about fifty feet, according to Manager Mana-ger Matson. Last week Arved Johnson, In charge of work of drifting from trie Elephant tunnel along the east-west fissure, sent samples of the ore being broken. Assays showed that the fines from this ore carried three ounces of silver sil-ver to the ton and 33 per cent leadi, and the coarse ore 2.2 ounces of. silver sil-ver and 20.5 per cent lead. Other than to state "that this is a sample of the stuff we are breaking break-ing and if we don't get a mine now we never will," Mr. Johnson sent no bther information. However, Mr. Matson is of the opinion that the bed has not been reached. This objective should be entered en-tered in fifteen or twenty feet. Drilling operations of the company com-pany near Rozel on Great Salt Lake have been seriously handicapped by a trecherous flinty formation. However, How-ever, Mr. Matson believes that the faulted) formation has been passed through and Lister progress s'uoulu he made. Mineral Survey. |
