Show Lost and Found While Christmas Shopping j ITTLE MARIE, jostled from one i) side to the other of the pave-iiient pave-iiient by the hurrying Christmas shoppers, became suddenly panicky. What If she would never, never see her mamma again? How, in all that mob of hurrying, brusque people could she ever find her? The streets and sidewalks side-walks were a black mud color from the snow trampled down by the thousands thou-sands of people and vehicles passing over them. What if she should slip and full and cover herself with that dirty slush? No one would ever recognize rec-ognize her. She would be lost ; she would have to walk the stroeis like this forever and ever oh ! oh ! Two large tears trickled down her chocks and a great sob shook her little frame. A largo-nosed Santa Clans in a red Ihinnel suit grinned at her and shook a little lineup which tinkled with many coins. On the corner a small group of blind hejrgars were singing Christmas carols in cracked, uly voices. Marie stopped in from of them, watched them for a while, then suddenly remembering re-membering her loneliness, hurst into a loud shriek. Several people slopped pityingly and inquired her name an 1 where she lived, but she could not tell j them, for the sobs were choking her throat. A large, excited lai'.y pushed her way through the crowd. "Marie! Oh. ninmnia thought you were lost!" Th.-woman Th.-woman swept the little girl on' her feet, clutching her eagerly.
