Show RETIRES FROM NEWSPAPER WORK John R. Wallis, who has published j 'lie Washington County News at St. ! George for the past many years, has leased his plant to John Stauffer. Mr. Wallis plans to retire to a farm which he has down in the Dixie section of Utah. Mr. Wallis. a native of Eng land, has lived in the mter-mounuuii country for many years, and has seen many and varied episodes in the newspaper news-paper business. Some 20 years arro, he decided to publish a paper at Mc-Call, Mc-Call, and located his small plant on a warron and with a team drove to Mc-Call, Mc-Call, where he set up shop and published pub-lished a newspaper for that thriving little lumber camp. After some years there, he decided to move and the people of that community thought so much of him and his work that they presented him with a very fine gold watch. During his many years in the newspaper business, Mrs. V alis has been his constant companion and helper. The newspaper men of Utah and Idaho will recret his retirement, but wish him every joy in the new-work new-work which he is taking up Publisher's Pub-lisher's Auxiliary. |
