Show CORN AND BEANS FOR PLANTING -ATCOST In oredr to increase the crop acre- ' age this season, ovei what would likely be planted otherwise, the county production and conservation committee decided that it would have to be done by bringing some of the fertile lan wdithout irrigation water under cultivation. This meant a dryland dry-land spring' sown crop to be promoted and for this reason corn and beans were selected. The county commissioners and county school board together volunteered volun-teered to furnish the money to buy this seed to be sold out to farmers at cost. In cases where farmers have not the money who wish to plant where conditions promise to make a crop they may get the seed by giving their personal note without interest. Early maturing varieties of White Flint and Yellow Dent corn have been secured, also a very limited amount of Mexican Pinto beans and Tepary beans. The Tepary beans are the best for dry land and have been grown on dry lands in Beaver county. All the farmers wishing seed should make application to the County Agricultural Agri-cultural Agent immediately. The corn is ready for distribution. II. A. CHRISTIAS1SN, County Agricultural Agent. |
