Show ANNAPOLIS EXAMS UTAH CANDIDATES SIPT. WHITE RECEIVES NEWS OE TESTS FOR ACADEMY APPOINTMENTS April 30,1917. To Superintendents of Schools: At the request of Senator Reed Smoot, there will be held at this office on Friday, May ISth, a preliminary mental test of applicants for appointment to the Naval Academy at An- napolis. This test will be in spelling, grammar, geography, U. S. History, arithmetic, alge- bra and plane geometry. Senator Smoot desires the ex- animation to be given to enable him to select a principal and alternates for appointment to the Naval Academy. Those who are appointed will be expected to take a special examination ordered by the Navy Depart- ment at Logan, ' Provo, Ogden and Salt Lake City on June 27, 1917. The U. S. Naval Recruiting Station, 116 Keith Emporium Bldg., Salt Lake City, will give a preliminary and unofficial phys- ical examination to all appli- cants for admission to the aca- demy upon the presentation of a letter from Senator Smoot.
