Kaminska proved up on his homestead east of Malone this week. A. C. Bartholomew, a prominent sheep man of Ogden, was in Milford this week. A. G. Burnham of the Beaver-Mil-ford Garage, returned last night from a trip to Ely. According to the Salt Lake Tribune Tri-bune Harry A. Sims, Jr., has been promoted to corporal. John E. Hunter of Holden, a very prominent. cattle man of that section, was in our city Tuesday. ' John Peardon of Moscow has invested in-vested in a Ford and will come down to Milford quite often hereafter. Atkin is in Milford this week. Mrs. Atkin had quite a severe accident acci-dent in Salt Lake City with one of her limbs, but is recovering rapidly. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Arring-ton, Arring-ton, Saturday evening, October 19, a daughter. Both mother and baby are doing very nicely. The Red Cross election of officers which was to have taken place last Wednesday evening, has been postponed post-poned until November 20th, on account ac-count of the influenza. H. E. Diehl of Beavei; and H. B. Waters of Richfield arrived in Milford Mil-ford this week and spent a great deal of time going over matters with the Beaver River Power Co. Dan Ferguson, after a furlough spent with his folks here, left Monday Mon-day morning for his training camp in Texas. Mrs. O. D. Payne came up from Prout last Monday to make her home in Milford. Mr. Payne . has been working in the shops for several months. Although it is a little late, it will be interesting to many friends, that a son was born to Mr. ani.Mrs. Geo. S. Bates at Logan, on October 6. Mr. Hates is expecting them to arrive in Milford in a very few days. Mrs. Ipson of Beaver is the first war mother to receive the gold star 1 from the War Mothers Chapter- of Milford. The gold star is presented to every mother whose son is taken away while in the service. In yesterday's Salt Lake Tribune was a picture of L. H. Evans of Ne-j Ne-j phi. He was wounded in France on September 12 and died two days later I according to a report from the war department to his parents. He was a brother of L. W. Evans of Milford. Lelloy Eyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre of Minersville, died of influenza the first of the week at Lo-igan. Lo-igan. where he was a member of the S. A. T. C. His body was brought here last night and taken to the home in Minersville. where the funeral funer-al was held today. J. W. McAllister has three secondhand second-hand heating stoves for sale. It County Attorney Parsons was in town Wednesday sweeping out his new office in the bank building. Signs were put up yesterday notifying noti-fying the traveling people that Frisco Fris-co had been quarantined. Miss Lore Skinner of Beaver has accepte'd a position as clerk at Bill Dobson's. Sam Hanks came home Wednesday Wednes-day from Parowan and went to bed with a light attack of the prevailing "flu." The local chapter of the Red Cross finds itself at the present time in need of about $250 to pay for material mater-ial which has already been used. Prof. Geo. S. Hurst of Beaver was a visitor visit-or in town yesterday.
