LAST REGISTRATION DAY OCT. 29th Both the Democrats and Republicans held their county conventions last Saturday at Beaver out in the open air, as indoor meetings had been forbidden. The Milford delegation to the Democratic convention was composed of Messrs Bert Nichols, D. A. Baxter, C. C. Sloan and Eb. Tanner; Tan-ner; while the Repuhlican delegates who attended were E. B. Jorgensen, J. Mathews, J. S. Hanks, C. ,T. Woodbury and H. H. Pitchforth. C. T. Woodbury was chosen chairman of the Republican meeting and Geo. C. Murdock secretary, and D. I. Frazer and Russell Parsons were chairman and secretary respectively of the Democratic convention. Both bodies spent some time in discussing the question of fusion, but to no avail. There were too many standpatters in both conventions to listen to the cry of "politics adjourned." After the committees had reported business proceeded pro-ceeded in a rapid manner, with the result that the voters of Beaver county have two tickets from which to choose theti- coming officials. Since the convention adjourned Mrs. Emma Mathews, who was nominated for treasurer treas-urer on the Republican ticket, has refused the nomination and as far as can be learned the vacancy has not been filled.
