Show AROUND THE MINES Discovery of a new fuel fluid, greater in heat value than either coal or present pres-ent fuel oils, was related at St. Louif of the convention of the American Chemical society. Several carloads of machinery and equipment arrived during the week for the Eureka-South Holly Mining company, com-pany, and is being hauled to the property prop-erty at Eureka, Nevada. Ore shipments from the l'ioche district dis-trict have been curtailed recently by the embargo placed upon certain grades of ore by the railroad company, but which has since been lifted. T. P. Killings, who has been engineer for the Bingham Mines and subsidiary companies for twelve years, has been promoted to the position of general superintendent su-perintendent of all the affiliated companies com-panies in Utah. The total net income of the Chino Copper company for the year 1919 amounted to $1,301,797.03, or at tlie rate of $1.50 per share, as compared with $3,908,222.23, or $4.49 par share, for the year 191S. Oil was struck in a well fourteen miles east of Fallon, Nev., April 2G, at a depth of Go0 feet. The flow is small, so far not exceeding twenty barrels. Ltitest information from the well being be-ing put down by the Virgin Dome Oil company near St. George, Utah, states that a depth of approximately 1950 feet has been attained, and that the work is progressing steadily under favorable fav-orable conditions. Evidence of the merits of the Illipah oil district is to be seen in the fact that several oil companies for drilling there have been organized in states other than Nevada. One of these is the Illipah Central Oil company a Utah corporation with a capital of $2.10.000. Service over the Ulah Power & Light company's line which comes to the 'Emma mine from the Big Cottonwood canyon via the Cardiff property was resumed last week. Since this line was taken out by snowslides the Emma mine has been getting power over the Wasatch Mines' line. The big deposit of alumina containing contain-ing potash and other valuable minerals miner-als is attracting many prospectors to Cain Springs. Nevada. It is estimated that close to 100 claims have already been located in hopes of duplicating the tind recently made by a party of Clark county prospectors.
