Show Local Man Honored At State Meeting i Milford and Beaver county were signally honored last Saturday at Salt Lake in connection with the biennial election of Democratic state committee officers. J. Ed Wilson of Milford, for several years Beaver county chairman of the Democratic party, and only just recently displaced by Grant Tolton of Beaver, was elected as treasurer of the state committee by acclamation accla-mation the only office to filled in this manner. Calvin W. Rawlings, Salt Lake attorney at-torney and state vice-chairman for the last two years, won out in the election for chairman over Olof R. Michelson of Richfield, who was formerly vice-chairman and became be-came chairman something over a year ago when Hugh B. Brown resigned re-signed to accept his present position posi-tion on the Utah state iquor control con-trol commission. - The vote was 40 y2 for Rawlings and 26 M for the retiring chairman. Mrs. Frank W. Penrose of Salt Lake was reelected chairwoman by an overwhelming vote over Mrs. Reva Beck Bosone, also of Salt Lake. Other officers elected are as follows: Lewis Jones of Brig-ham Brig-ham City and Welsley Pryor of Cedar City, first and second vice-chairmen, vice-chairmen, and Mrs. Etta Spendlove of Richfield and Mrs. Merribel Stevenson of Ogden, first and second sec-ond associate vice-chairwomen. |
