Show Needed Improvement Is Now Underway A little over a year ago, when the town undertook to oil the avenues ave-nues entering Main street in the business section, a plan was worked work-ed out whereby the Union Pacific would grade and oil the company property lying between the tracks and the walk at the rear of the business buildings. But that badly needed improvement wia blue-penciled someiwlteiie up the line and nothing was done by the company. As a result, to approach ap-proach the station afoot from any point except the extreme south has been about impossible in bad weather except with boots on and it has been plenty bad for cars. The recent long spell of rainy weather and consequent cussing bv evervone walking- over to the station prompted W. E. Martin, ; Railway Express agent and president presi-dent of the town ' board of trustees, trus-tees, to suggest to the railroad company that this area be fixed up or that a "No Trespass" sign be erected so that the public would know they weren't supposed to get over to the station. The result is that a cooperative agreement has been worked out and an improvement im-provement that should have been made years ago is now underway. M |
