Miss Margaret Hanlon, who is attending the University of Utah, was down from Salt Lake over the week-end'. j Mrs. Margaret Carroll of Hollywood', Holly-wood', California, sister of Mrs. R. R. Kanert, is visiting at the'Kan-ert the'Kan-ert heme for a month. Miss Rosetta Koch left Tuesday for Colorado Springs, Colorado, after spending the past two months visiting with home folks. Mr. and' Mrs. Alvin Skillicorn of Salt Lake City visited from Friday Fri-day to Tuesday at the home of the latter's mother, Mr. J. A. Raines. Mrs. H. A. Firike of Sedalia, Colorado, and Mrs. Howard' Mize and daughter Phillis of Red Cliff, Colorado, sister and niece of Mrs. R. R. Kanert, are visiting here for a short time. Mrs. William Cochrane and' daughter Margaret motored 1,0 Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon after-noon and while there will attend the grand lodge convention of the Ord'er of Eastern Star. Mrs. Bernice Steele and her daughter, Miss Mary Steele, accompanied ac-companied by the Misses Laura and' Lena Wavren, all of Salt Lake City, were week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. 0. Peak. Miss LaVera Connell, who is training at the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City, came home Saturday morning to spend; the week-end at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Connell. The annual fall convention of the Utah Educational association has taken all of the Milford schoo-teachers schoo-teachers to Salt Lake City for the week-end, school having closed Wednesday afternoon to permit them to make the trip. In common with all southern Utah, the Milford valley was treated treat-ed to more storm last Sunday and that night was visited by a light frost. Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams motored to Cedar City last Saturday Sat-urday morning and were there joined by their son Bud', B. A. C. student, on a trip to Kanab. There they visited with their daugther, Mrs. Royal Y. Swapp, and baby son. E. L. Moody and David! S. Williams, Wil-liams, president and secretary of the Milford Lions club, attended a Zone I meeting of club presidents and secretaries at Richfield Monday Mon-day evening. Following the zone meeting all those attending were guests of the Richfield Lions club at their regular dinner meeting. Mrs. Harold Cline was hostess to her bridge club Tuesday evening with Mrs. Thomas Gerrard, Mrs. K. B. Coon and Mrs. Maude Mes-singer Mes-singer winning first, second and third high score prizes. Others present were Mrs. W. H. Post, Mrs. George Jefferson, Mrs. A. B. Gilliam and Mrs. J. R. Murdock. The Pierian club met at the hom of Mrs. J. D. Johnston Tuesday Tues-day night. Reading from the book, "The Nile", and current topics were enjoyed during the evening. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess to Mrs. Vena Wilson, Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr., Mrs. Roy White sr., Mrs. Frank Dolble, Mrs. Frank Dearman, Mrs. Elva Sed'gwkk and Mrs. O. C. Koch. Ray Mclntyre, five year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Mclntyre, is recovering nicely from a fractured skull and cuts about the head and face which he suffered last Saturday. Sat-urday. Riding on a bicycle with his brother Bobby on the road leading toward South Milford, he was thrown onjto ,-tfhe gravel 'in front of a car as Bobby attempted to turn out to let it pass. Robert Banks, 17-year old Min-ersville Min-ersville student attending the Milford Mil-ford high school, was alble to leave the local hospital Wednesday following fol-lowing treatment for injuries sustained sus-tained in football practice a week previous. Accidently kicked on the cheekbone by a fellow player in scrimmage, it was feared! at first that the injuries to the lad, an outstanding out-standing student in every respect, might be fatal. Mrs. E. L. Smith entertained her bridge club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday night. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Val Yepsen, Mrs. George Smith, Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. Harold Cline and Mrs. J. H. Hanlon. High points prize was received re-ceived by Mrs. Williams, high honors prize by Mrs. Murdock and consolation by Mrs. Hanlon. Mrs. Freda Outzen entertained 14 young guests Saturday afternoon after-noon in honor of the 13th birthday of her son Dern. Games were played play-ed indoors during the afternoon, followed by refreshments. Those present were Betty Campeau, Maxine Carter, Naomi Davidson, Gloria Limb, Phyllis Lyman, Le Roy Bishop, Junior Kirk, Vernon Hughes, Freddie O'Leary, Faye Limb, Albert Smith, Blair Coon, Lindsay Waddingham and Vernon Uren. |
