Show B. J. Vestal, Ihiion Pacific signalman, was up from Kelso, California last week-end, called here by the illness of his wife. Elwood Stenbom (Jefferson), for some time a valuable employe of the Jefferson Mercantile company, com-pany, left last week for Cedar City to begin a 90-day basic course preliminary to training as a glider pilot under the C P T ' program. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Horton and young- son left Wednesday for McGill, Nevada, where Mr. Horton expected to accept a good position which was offered him when he was in McGill for the funeral of his brother, the late Lester Horton. Hort-on. j Mrs. R. O. Snyder is here from Charleston park, near Las Vegas, Nevada, for a visit with her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. H. V. Palmer, and also to stay with her grandchildren, Patsy and Ward LeecH, while Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Leech are on a vacation trip to Fish lake. Worl was received this week by Mr. and Mrs. William Morris of the birth of a fine baby boy, born July 20, to Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Adams of Inglewood, California. I Mrs. Adams is the former Roberta j Morris of Milford and this is the ' second son for Mr. and Mrs. Adams. Mrs. J. P. Holm entertained her bridge club last Friday night, serving a dainty luncheon and having as favors cans of cleanser in gay oilcloth covers. The members mem-bers present were Mrs. Ross Baxter, Bax-ter, Mrs. 0. A. Steenbock, Mrs. Tanis Strofeld, Mrs. William Morris Mor-ris and Mrs. W. E. Martin, and the guests were Mrs. R. McGill, Mrs. R. Colburn, Mrs. Thomas James, Mrs. D. B. James, Mrs. Ed Bardsley, Mrs. 0. R. Smith and Mrs. James Moore. At bridge the club prizes were awarded to Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Strofeld, Mrs. Baxter Bax-ter and Mrs. Morris while the guest prizes were received by Mrs. . McGill and Mrs. James. |
