Show Exploration Hike Is ! Made Sunday By Scouts An exploration hike was made Saturday, February 17 by the senior patrol leader and patrol-and patrol-and assistant patrol leaders, to explore ex-plore the country adjacent to Rock Corral to find a suitable spot to be used as a permanent troop camp ground. The group left Milford at 3:45 p.m. and drove to within a mile and a half of Rock Corral before be-fore the snow got too deep for the cars. The boys packed their bedding and grub on their backs except the larger bed rolls, which, along with some other things, were towed on a toboggan. Camp was made at old Rock Corral, Cor-ral, and the old cave was put to g-ood use as a bed room for six of the boys, the other two sleeping in a tent. It started to snow aibout midnight mid-night and all the time the boys were out, but a good time was had by all, and all slept warm except Scout Bill Wood, who thought he would rather sleep cool than pack extra blankets. But he carried his share of camp equipment nevertheless. neverthe-less. A very fine supper was served by Senior Patrol Leader Charles Baxter and Patrol Leader Dean Anderson, and breakfast was serv-! serv-! ed by Scouts Chris Nolan and Ward Leech, while Scouts Ray Feller Fel-ler and Wood cooked up a very fine lunch. Scout Leonard Hillman was the fire tender.- Camp broke up right after lunch on Sunday and the boys arrived in Milford at 4:30 p.m., tired but happy except for a jfew wet feet. ' It was decided to clear some j ground at old Rock Corral and put up a flag pole and mark off a i parade ground for a permanent i camp gr-ound as soon as the I weather will permit. V |
