Show 'RAZZLE-DAZZLE' BOMBING The dramatic events in Italy have naturally diverted attention at-tention from the British-American air war against Germany. Yet, in other times the immense volume of bombs, the sustained sus-tained day and night attacks, the saturation of enemy re1 sistance over Hamburg- would be accorded the sharpest interest. in-terest. Naming of Brigadier General Anderson to head the United. States bombing forces based in Britain appears to be coincident with the start of a new method. This might be called the "hidden ball" technique. The essence of it is simply that relatively small formations of bombers are sent to several different objectives to draw off and disperse enemy fighter resistance while a concentrated force of big bombers, British by night, American by day, smash at the principal target, smothering both ground and air opposition by sheer volume and weight of bombs. This "razzle-dazzle" application, according to General Anderson, is inflicting much greater damage, with reduced American losses. There is every indication the tempo of these attacks will mount from now on as the experiment of subduing a fee from the air is given full reign. Incidentally, for those armchair strategists who enjoy speculating on the trend of events, it may be interesting to note that the pattern of bombing in addition to the inland industrial sections, now includes these coastal areas sometimes some-times mentioned as possible avenues for invasion.
